Barossa Cheese Company is a 4 minute walk from Barossa On Sturt.
Open Wednesday to Monday 10-4 pm.
Since opening in 2003, visitors are welcomed into the Cheesecellar to enjoy the cheese that is made on the premises.
The Cheesecellar offers:
- the full range of Barossa Valley Cheese Company cheese products
- local gourmet condiments
- a range of perfect cheese accompaniments
- a viewing window and live stream TV allowing visitors to see the 'whey' the team live, eat, breathe and make our exceptional cheese
The Barossa Valley Cheese Company has continued to grow with a great cheese making team that continue to make the artisan cheese daily here in the Cheesecellar. The cheese is made by hand, wrapped by hand and packed by hand, all here in the Angaston premises. There is a friendly retail team are the experts on pairing cheese with local condiments and plating up wonderful cheese experiences.
They specialise in hand-making a range of cheese with Barossa-sourced cows milk and South Australian goat milk. The cheese range includes:
- fresh cheese
- soft white mould cheese
- washed rind cheese
- semi-matured style cheese
Victoria and her team also pride themselves on being innovative and creative with their cheese-making, pushing the boundaries as they develop new cheese and techniques.

A fabulous farmers market open on Saturday mornings from 7:30am to 11:30am. This is where you can buy the freshest local produce grown locally. There is always a great selection of fresh, seasonal, artisan-made Barossa and regional South Australian food.
Stallholders sell seasonal selection of local vegetables, fruit, meats, bread, and cheeses along with delicious oils, preserves, pastries, dumplings, cakes, sweet treats, coffee, and other local specialties, including Barossa distilled gin.
The markets are well worth a visit to enjoy what local growers have in season, also to listen to the local, very talented musician who regularly plays while you soak up the atmosphere, enjoy browsing or having a coffee.

At the end of Sturt Street, a few minutes walk you will discover Wanera Wine Bar in Angaston. A fabulous local venue which provides the Barossa region with a sophisticated wine bar experience, good quality food in an elegant, in an exposed-stone space with a restaurant, function rooms, mezzanine and courtyard.
The wine bar is located in an historic stone building on Murray Street. You'll encounter friendly staff with an excellent knowledge of local and exceptional wines. We recommend having dinner or lunch at least once during your stay at Barossa on Sturt.
